About Us

Passion. Experience. Diligence.

History

Located in the beautiful Roman town of St. Albans, Rose-Ann Swan established the Gatehouse surgery in April 1989. In 2005 she and her husband, Christopher Swan, moved to and renovated the adjacent building to create what is now called the Archway Podiatry Surgery.

Boasting Victorian architecture and a quaint courtyard, these buildings were originally built in 1873 as an equine practice. It is one of the oldest veterinary practices in the U.K. and Chris Swan’s father, Bernard Swan, was a well-respected veterinarian here for many years. Now the buildings consist of our Podiatry practice, an adjacent veterinary practice and a charming cottage.
